Contributors' Task Card


Goals:

  • Contribute one or more technology-enhanced D.I. strategies on the Tech4DI wiki.
  • Develop a project incorporating DI and Technology for classroom implementation.

Session Tasks:

  • Review Existing Contributions (Hands On Part 1)

  • Prepare Your Contribution (Hands On Part 1)

    • Download and use the or (the RTF should open in any word processing application and may be uploaded to GoogleDocs).
    • Compose your contribution on the Planning Form rather than directly on the wiki. Only one person at a time can actually edit a wiki page. Preparing your contribution off-line in the Planning Form will help avoid this limitation.
    • Determine which page or pages of Tech Tips & Strategies your contribution should appear on. If your contribution applies to more than one page, just add it to all that are appropriate.
    • If you are ready to post, select your text from the Planning Form, then click the Edit This Page link at the top of the appropriate Tech Tips & Strategies page. Position the insert cursor at the appropriate spot and paste in your text. Be sure to add a Horizontal Rule to separate each contribution on the page. And don't forget to give yourself credit -- include a link to your home page or provide contact information as you wish (but use caution/discretion to minimize exposure to spam).
  • Reflect and Respond (Hands On Part 1)

    • When prompted, briefly discuss your contribution idea(s) in your Pair or Triad.
  • Prepare Then Post Your Contribution (Hands On Part 2)

    • NOTE: DI Expert Consultation available as needed (virtual, one-on-one)

    • When prompted, discuss briefly your contribution(s) and project development idea(s) in your Pair or Triad.
    • Share your contribution(s) and experience during the morning with the larger group by responding to the MTSD July 10, 2008 discussion thread above.
    • Be prepared to share one or two comments in the large-group discussion -- your own contribution(s), something previously contributed that you found interesting or potentially useful, plans for Project Development, etc.
  • Lunch

  • Project Development

    • You may work independently or with one other colleague in the same discipline or grade range (regardless of your respective morning grouping).
    • Select and use a template for for project development.

    • Incorporate one or more DI strategies that will positively impact student learning and at least one that involves technology in your project planning. If the latter is not the same as the strategy you contributed earlier, consider making it another contribution on the appropriate wiki Tips and Strategies page(s).
    • As time permits, see if you can assist a colleague that was in the Explorer or Minor group in the morning.
  • Recording

    • When prompted, submit in Moodle your Project Planning document including next steps needed for implementation.
  • Sharing

    • In pairs/triads, discuss the day -- highlights, insights, new information, "ah ha" moments, valuable resources, progress on project development, and next steps, as well as any frustrations or stumbling blocks.
    • Return to the initial question discussion thread on the Notes & Presentations wiki page and post your thoughts as the day ends. You may post a new response or a response to someone else's reply.
    • Contribute to the whole group wrap-up discussion.
  • Evaluation

    • Complete the District evaluation form.
    • Please contribute any over-all feedback concerning the workshop in the MTSD Workshop Feedback thread on the Notes & Presentations wiki page. Thanks in advance -- your comments are extremely valuable.


Follow-Up:

  • Postings in the Discussion threads on this page and elsewhere in the wiki may be completed or extended after the workshop. Although this page will be updated for future workshops and presentations, the Discussion tabs will remain. Please feel free to return and add to these discussions at any time in the future. Remember, this is a public wiki.
  • You are encouraged to re-visit the Tech4DI wiki often and contribute resources for Differentiation and Technology in the External Links and Resources pages as well as more of your own strategies and experiences in the Tech Tips & Strategies pages.
  • Consider using the Notify Me tab at the top to monitor one or more Tech4DI pages via email notification when changes occur, or by using the RSS subscription feature.
