Developers' Task Card

Developing Exemplars and Planning Strategic Implementation

  • Develop and describe one or more technology-enhanced D.I. strategies to contribute by posting on the Tech4DI wiki.
  • Develop a plan to incorporate DI and Technology in the context of project based learning, challenge based learning, or a similar unit (or program of professional learning for adults) to help ensure all participants meet success.
  • Determine next steps for implementation -- when, where, how the plan will be used and with whom.
  • Consider how efficacy will be assessed after implementation.
  • Share your work with other workshop participants.

Session Tasks:

  • Paired Review of Existing Contributions (Hands On) -- may also be done individually or in triads if necessary

  • Prepare Your Contribution (Hands On)

    • Compose your contribution on the Planning Form rather than directly on the wiki. Only one person at a time can actually edit a wiki page. Preparing your contribution off-line in the Planning Form will help work around this limitation.
    • Determine which page or pages of Tech Tips & Strategies your contribution should appear on. If your contribution applies to more than one page, you may add it to all that are appropriate.
  • Post Your Contribution – Edit the Wiki (Hands On)
    • When you are ready to post, select and copy your text from the Planning Form
    • Click the Edit button at the top of the appropriate Tech Tips & Strategies page. Position the insert cursor at the appropriate spot and paste in your text. Be sure to add a Horizontal Rule to separate each contribution on the page. And don't forget to give yourself credit -- include a link to your own website if you have one or provide contact information as you wish (but use caution/discretion to minimize exposure to spam).
  • Develop a plan to incorporate both DI and Technology

    • Develop a project or work on an existing unit and incorporate a combination of differentiated instruction and technology to help ensure all students meet success.
    • Focus on using technology to maximize the impact of differentiation.
    • Attempt to differentiate for potential student variance in Readiness, Interest, Learning Profile.
    • Consider inclusion of all levels of Bloom's Revised Taxonomy.
    • Consider options that incorporate multiple intelligences.
    • Consider addressing ISTE's National Educational Technology Standards for Students (or Teachers or Administrators for adult learners)
    • To facilitate sharing with others in the workshop, develop this plan on a Google doc so it can be published and shared (optional).
  • Individual/Pair/Triad Reflection (following Hands On Contributing) *(see Alternate Instructions for Sharing below)

    • When prompted, briefly discuss your contribution(s) in your Pair or Triad.
    • Be prepared to share one or two comments in the large-group discussion -- your own contribution(s), something previously contributed that you found interesting or potentially useful, plans for using in your own classroom or to share with colleagues.
    • Individually, you may also respond to one of the threads under the Discussion tab at the top of this wiki page or start a new thread.
  • Group Discussion/Workshop Evaluation *(see Alternate Instructions for Sharing below)

    • Return to the Notes & Presentations wiki page and post your thoughts in the Responses to "The Question" thread as the workshop ends. You may post a new response or a response to someone else.
    • Contribute to the whole group wrap-up discussion -- highlights, insights, new information, "ah ha" moments, valuable resources, plans for use as coach, and next steps, as well as any frustrations or stumbling blocks.
  • Alternate instructions for Sharing may be provided by your workshop leader. Be sure to follow those for recording and/or sharing your work on the Tech4DI wiki. These instructions may also be on your workshop-specific wiki page.
